The Whissell & Williams immersive training projects led by Richard Talbot as Mr Whissell and Carran Waterfield as Mrs Williams. This section archives the projects delivered since 2010.

Prior to that, there were four 'campaigns' in the project comprising of workshops, performance and films, delivered over periods ranging from 2 days to 3 weeks. (See the Triangle Theatre website - under 'Projects').

WOODFIELD INVASION (2008)
THE WALL (2006)
WAR IS OVER (2005)
COVENTRY KIDS IN THE BLITZ (2004)
THE WHISSELL AND WILLIAMS HOME FRONT TRAINING CAMP (2003)

Between 2003 and 2010, the Whissell & Williams project was based at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry, and participants took part in a complex hierarchy. This 'regime' included 'Ministry Staff" (lead performers, Talbot & Waterfield), 'Officers' (actors), 'Officers in Training' (actors in training), Agents (partner organisation staff) and Recruits (students and school children). These roles and the campaigns are documented in detail in the DVD Rom - TRIANGLE'S WORK IN TIMES OF WAR (2005).

Since 2010, the regime has been based within the School of Arts & Media at the University of Salford, where Richard Talbot is now a Senior Lecturer in Performance,
Between 2010 and 2014 there have been 6 further 'Operations' as part of the annual induction week, documented here.

In 2015/16 Whissell & Williams will participate in a major project commemorating the First World WarWorld War One. For 2016 we are planning a reunion of regime members. There have been 30 trained Officers, 21 in the period 2003-2008, and a further 19 Officers between 2010 and 2014. Since 2003 there have been approximately 600 participants in the projects, many of them in role.

For more details and to participate please contact Richard Talbot: r.talbot@salford.ac.uk
